Office of Undergraduate Studies Staff

The staff of the CCAS Office of Undergraduate Studies is responsible for the academic life of CCAS students. Working with faculty, we plan courses and programs that enrich undergraduate education, helping students prepare for graduate or professional school and for careers. Our professional advisors help students navigate the policies and procedures that facilitate their studies. Our office in Phillips Hall 107 is the academic home for undergraduates in CCAS.

There are seven professional undergraduate advisors who have expertise in a wide range of CCAS and GW academic policies and procedures. Advisors are available in Phillips 107 either by appointment or during scheduled walk-in hours. Walk-in sessions are reserved for quick questions, for example about a single course or a CCAS rule, deadline, or other procedural matter. Half-hour appointments give students the opportunity to ask and get answers to more complex questions about choosing courses, selecting majors, overcoming academic difficulty, or seeking referrals to campus agencies that can help with issues concerning housing, financial aid, emotional or physical distress, or disability issues.

Walk-in hours are held Monday through Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Friday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Our office is open from 8:30am to 5:30pm each weekday.

While academic advisors cannot answer all questions or solve all problems, we work with a number of other offices on campus to help. Students with specific concerns can find information at some of the following web sites, as well as on GWEB and GWIRED:
