The master's degree can be earned in the general
field of history or with a concentration in historic preservation, public
policy, US legal history, or imperial and colonial studies.
At the doctoral level, students work in one general and three special fields of study. General fields include early modern Europe, modern Europe, modern Near East, modern East Asia, modern Russia and the former Soviet Union, Latin America, and the United States. Special fields include (but are not limited to) American colonial history, European intellectual history, historic preservation, Tudor and Stuart England, US social history, and 20th-century history. The doctoral program in American religious history is offered in cooperation with the Religion Department. The MA program in US Legal History is offered with the Law School. |
