Pulitzer Prize Winner to Join GW Faculty
GW will welcome renowned biographer and historian Martin J. Sherwin as a visiting scholar of history and international affairs in January 2007. Sherwin, the Walter S. Dickson Professor of English and American History at Tufts University, is an expert in Cold War history. He and co-author Kai Bird won both the 2006 Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for
their biography American Prometheus:
The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer. While at GW, Sherwin will conduct research and teach a graduate course on the origins and consequences
of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
