Customer Service Day Celebration
The University will host the
second Customer Service Celebration Oct. 8. The joint initiative between
the Executive Vice President and Treasurer and Senior Vice President for
Student and Academic Support Services divisions is designed to reaffirm
the Universitys commitment to customer service, to celebrate the
efforts put forth toward increasing service levels and to acknowledge
those staff members and departments who provide excellent service to their
internal and external customers. This years event has expanded to
include more areas of the University and is timed to coincide with Customer
Service Week, Oct. 610, a national event devoted to recognizing
the importance of customer service and honoring the people on the front
lines of the service revolution.
The festivities begin in the Marc C. Abrahms Great Hall with a reception
including coffee, continental breakfast and a balloon pickup from 8:309:30
am.
The highlight of this years event will be the presentation of the
Champions of Customer Service Awards, presented from 9:3010:30 am.
Leading the honors will be the Customer Service Enhancement Award, given
to a department in recognition of a special project/initiative undertaken
to enhance the service provided to customers. Additional awards include
the Facultys Choice Award, the Staffs Choice Award and the
Students Choice Award.
From 11 am-2 pm there will be ice cream and/or popcorn giveaways in J
Street and the dining venues on the Marvin Center ground floor.
Three 45-minute customer service sessions featuring videos relating to
customer service will be held in Marvin Center 420 from 1:454:30
pm.
Among the prizes available during Customer Service Day are a pair of tickets
for a performance of CATS at the National Theatre; a $50 gift
certificate at a local restaurant; a pair of Redskins tickets, and 50
pairs of tickets to a special movie screening at the Loews Theatre.
