Prof. Vahid Motevalli, Ph.D.,
P.E., is an Associate Professor in the School
of Engineering and Applied Science and Director
of the Aviation Institute. He was selected as a
Congressional Fellow by the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers and served on the U.S. House
of Representatives Committee on Science in 1995
- 1996. In 1997, he served as an Executive committee
member and Safety Track Co-chair of the White House
Conference on "International Aviation Safety
and Security in the 21st Century." Prior to
joining The George Washington University in 1994,
he was an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering
at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Dr.
Cing-Dao (Steve) Kan, he holds an Associate Research
Professor position in the School of Engineering and
Applied Science at the George Washington University.
He joined the FHWA/NHTSA National Crash Analysis Center
at the George Washington University since 1994. During
the past nine years, Dr. Kan has become an expert in
the field computational solid mechanics using nonlinear
finite element modeling and analysis methodologies.
Currently, he is the director of simulation and advance
research at the National Crash Analysis Center.
