GW Legacy Program
As a part of a GW legacy family, we value the continued participation of you and your family in the life of this University. Your multi-generational family connections are one of our core strengths, and we are delighted that you are part of a great tradition of legacy families at GW.

Who are legacy families?
The University recognizes legacy families as students and alumni whose family, including parents, grandparents and/or siblings, attended or currently attend GW.
We want to get to know you!
Tell us your story – we want to hear about you and your family's experiences at GW. We are planning a feature story about GW families of three generations or more in an upcoming edition of the Colonial Cable, our monthly online newsletter. Email us at gwlegacy@gwu.edu and tell us your story, and please include some current family photos.
GW Legacy Programs
Legacy students and families will be able to take part in unique programs throughout the year, including:
- Commencement Legacy Family Reception – A reception to celebrate and honor this year's graduates and their families who share a legacy connection during Commencement Weekend. Guests will receive a professional photograph of their legacy family to take home as a gift! We encourage families to come early to take advantage of this great opportunity to remember this year's graduation. (Commencement 2009 date TBD)
We are proud of GW's legacies and invite you and your family to join us at these events to celebrate your special bond to our University.
