Suzanne Stanland, MVC AA ’56, practically came away from her 50th Mount Vernon College Reunion with a plane ticket to Peru. It was there that she first learned about GW alumni travel opportunities, and it sparked in her a big interest to take advantage of the trips.

“These trips are extremely well organized, they go to interesting places, and they are reasonably priced,” Stanland said. “More alumni should go on them.”

Jim Core, ESIA MA ’96, has been selected for the 2008–2009 Council for Excellence in Government Fellows Program. While remaining in his current position at the Department of State, Jim will work with a cohort of professionals from across the Federal government in a year-long leadership development program. The program seeks to develop the skills of public sector professionals who are committed to improving the effectiveness of government. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the GW Alumni Association and resides in Kensington, Md., with his wife Wendy Kabele Core, ESIA MA ’94.
