GW ALUMNI RECEPTION IN PHOENIX
You are cordially invited to attend an alumni reception hosted by GW alumna Jeanne Winograd, MBA ‘85. Mingle with fellow alumni, share your GW experiences, and receive an update on the University. We will be joined by Dean James Scott, MD, of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS).

Wednesday, January 16
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Home of Jeanne & Steve Winograd
3034 E. Sierra Vista Drive
Phoenix, Ariz.

During the reception, Dean Scott will speak about the opportunities and responsibilities of a Foggy Bottom University, contrasting GW with Georgetown and American University, given the unique role we must embrace as a university placed in the heart of the nation’s capital.

Dr. Scott has served as dean of SMHS since 2003. He became a full professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine in 1998 and previously served as residency director, assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education, and assistant dean for Student Affairs in SMHS. Scott is a 10-time recipient of the Golden Apple award for outstanding teaching, voted on by fourth-year medical students. He received his BA from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 followed by service in the Peace Corps. He received his MD from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1983. Scott completed his internal medicine internship at the University of Arizona and did his emergency medicine residency at The George Washington University.  He is a native of Phoenix.

There is no cost to attend this dinner reception and discussion with Dean Scott, but all alumni who are interested in attending must register by January 8, 2008. We look forward to seeing you in January!
