THOUSANDS ATTEND INAUGURATION ACTIVITIES FOR PRESIDENT STEVEN KNAPP

A flurry of activity surrounded GW in the days
leading up to the Inauguration of Dr. Steven Knapp as the 16th President of The George Washington
University. The Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses
hosted six days worth of programming that drew
approximately 5,000 attendees, including several
hundred alumni. Activities on Thursday, Nov. 15, GW:
A Lifelong and Worldwide Community Day, were
specifically geared toward alumni.

Edward “Skip” Gnehm, BA ’66, MA ’68, wasn’t
aiming for GW’s acting president when he launched a water balloon
off the roof of his fraternity house; it just happened to land on
him.
