GW Welcomes Steven Knapp as its 16th President


Steven Knapp began his tenure as the 16th President of The George Washington University on August 1, 2007. To hear more about Knapp’s initial impressions of the University, his goals for GW, and his plans to live on the Foggy Bottom Campus you can view the below videos.

Nov. 13-16, 2007, will mark the formal celebration of this new chapter in GW's history during a week-long series of events and activities. All alumni are invited to come back to campus to meet and network with fellow graduates, faculty, and students on November 15. The culminating event will be the inauguration of Dr. Knapp as GW's 16th president Nov. 16. In the coming year, Knapp plans to travel extensively to meet with GW alumni in various cities and countries around the globe. Current stops include New York, California, South Florida, Baltimore, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, South Korea, China, London, and Paris.

Knapp brings nearly 30 years of higher education experience and an impressive record of academic, fund-raising, and leadership accomplishments.
