In February, the series of receptions honoring President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg’s transition to President Emeritus and University Professor of Public Service continued with a well-attended event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Before Commencement in May, several more receptions will take place across the country, including events in California; Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Chicago. President Trachtenberg and alumni alike are reveling in this chance to reminisce and take pride in GW’s growth over the past 19 years.
As President Trachtenberg mentioned in recent remarks to the GW Board of Trustees, the University’s finances this past year were the best they’ve ever been. On January 31, the endowment realized a major milestone, passing the $1 billion mark. Just as impressively, about 20,000 seniors apply for admission to GW each year, and in the Financial Times’s ranking of full-time MBA global programs, our program rose to 43rd in the U.S. and 67th in the world. During his tenure as President of The George Washington University, President Trachtenberg has made these positive changes and countless others a reality.
I hope that you will refer to this and other issues of the Colonial Cable to learn about GW’s progress and for more chances to reminisce and reconnect with your University and fellow alumni.
Warm regards,

Scott M. Mory, BA ’96, JD ’99
Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
