Dear Fellow Colonials –

Winter is fast approaching here at GW. The Foggy Bottom, Mount Vernon, and Loudon campuses are beautiful as the trees turn color. Students have finished their midterms and it already feels like the semester is winding down.

We just finished a very successful Colonials Weekend during which I, like hundreds of other alumni, celebrated a reunion. I loved visiting old friends during my 10th reunion, strolling down memory lane, and reliving some of the GW experience. That’s what it’s all about, right? READ FULL ARTICLE

Griffin Garnett, JD '39

Griffin Garnett, JD ’39, is a 92 year-old World War II Veteran with a flair for writing adventures.

Garnett’s latest book, Marcus, hit the shelves in May. The novel is the third and final installment of Garnett’s award-winning The Arlington Trilogy, which he started writing in the early 1990s. At the 2006 Do It Yourself Book Festival, in which thousands of independent writers and publishers compete, Garnett won runner-up in the fiction category for Marcus. The trilogy grew out of Garnett’s experiences during WWII. READ FULL ARTICLE

Alyson Fieldman, BBA ’99, MBA ’01; Matthew Fieldman, MBA ’05; and Erica Fishbein ’06; are serving the Jewish communities of the Former Soviet Union by volunteering through a program called the Jewish Service Corps, sponsored by the Joint Distribution Committee, a major non-profit society. The Fieldmans were recently named Roslyn Z. Wolf Cleveland-JDC International Fellows. The fellowship is awarded each year to an individual (or couple) who has shown excellence and outstanding commitment in the area of Jewish communal service. Erica Fishbein has taken on her role in Minsk, Belarus.

Jodi Reborchick, BA ’96, MPA ’98, was recently promoted to Manager, Sports and Specials for Spike TV, where she manages the development and production of programming for Spike.
