Dear Fellow Colonials –

Colonials Weekend is nearly here, October 20 – 22, and we look forward to welcoming our alumni back to campus. Colonials Weekend is GW's annual celebration for the entire community, and alumni will be attending several events held in their honor. The weekend is packed with fun. You won't want to miss the annual Kick-off Party at Alumni House on Friday night, an open conversation with President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg on Saturday morning, the “Classes Without Quizzes” lecture series, family fun at Octoberfest, the 4th Annual Golf Scramble, and the Deans’ Breakfasts. Stacey Bredhoff, ’83 MAT, a graduate of GW’s Museum Education Program, is the curator of “Eyewitness: American Originals From the National Archives,” a collection of photographs, audio recordings, and handwritten letters currently on display through January 1, 2007, at the National Archives in Washington, DC. The exhibit documents firsthand accounts of more than twenty monumental events in American history, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Civil Rights Movement.

Robert H. Moran, Jr., BA ’77, is among an elite group of financial advisors recognized in Virginia Business Magazine’s special report on the “The Winner’s Circle,” an annual ranking of the top financial advisors in Virginia. Moran was selected for this honor based upon following the industry’s best practices and on a range of qualifications including revenue and customer satisfaction.

More than 70 George Washington University soccer alumni players from around the U.S. and the world returned to the University's Mount Vernon Athletic Complex September 16-17 for their soccer alumni weekend.
