MESSAGE FROM MORY

Greetings Fellow Alumni —

So the summer is winding down, law and med students have returned to campus, and the residence halls are getting ready to welcome the newest freshman class. As fall begins, the GW Alumni Association is gearing up for another year of exciting programs.

Please make plans to join us for Colonials Weekend, October 20–22, one of our favorite annual events. Several activities have been planned for the weekend, including reunions for GW alumni whose graduation years span five decades. Colonials Weekend starts Friday night with the 4th annual Kick-off Party at Alumni House, followed by Jerry Seinfeld, live at the Smith Center!

Saturday and Sunday are packed with a variety of on-campus activities. On Saturday morning, you can join President Trachtenberg as he takes a candid look back on his 18-year tenure and shares his thoughts about future trends in higher education. Saturday will also feature events with the deans of the various schools, lectures from some of your favorite professors, nostalgia tours of campus, and a day of family fun featuring hayrides and pie-eating contests at Octoberfest on the Mount Vernon Campus. For the complete schedule of these free events and to register for any, please visit our website and click on calendar of events.

The weekend culminates Saturday night with reunions for undergraduate, law, and med alumni. Members of each class have taken an active role in planning a unique and entertaining evening for their reunion. Colonials Weekend is the perfect time to reconnect with old friends and classmates, rediscover the University, and share fond memories and great times. To register for your class event, or for more information, visit our website.

We look forward to greeting you in October! Welcome home!

Sincerely,

Scott M. Mory, BA 96, JD 99
Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
