Class of 2006 Creates Community Service Fund

In a time-honored tradition, the class of 2006 has chosen their gift to the University, one that reflects a truly civic-minded group of graduates. The endowed Class of 2006 Community Service Fund will enable GW students who initiate community service projects to apply for grants to help support their work.

Tapping some 450 members of the senior class, the Senior Class Gift Committee raised more than $45,000 from parents and students. "Presenting the Class of 2006 Community Service Project Fund to President Trachtenberg at Monumental Celebration was an honor,” says Carrie Warick, student coordinator for the fundraising campaign. “It brought the University community together to both celebrate the gift and toast the seniors for graduation."
