More than 25,000 graduates, family members, and guests celebrated GW’s 2006 Commencement on the National Mall on Sunday, May 21. Former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush headlined the ceremony and received honorary Doctor of Public Service degrees. Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone, Washington Nationals Manager Frank Robinson, and Motion Picture Association of America Chairman and CEO and GW alumnus Dan Glickman, JD ’69, also received honorary degrees.
