MESSAGE FROM MORY

Greetings fellow alumni –

Commencement has come and gone, and we welcome over 6,000 new graduates to the alumni community! Even though the academic year is over, the campus continues to hum with activity, with a new residence hall nearing completion on F Street and Colonial Inauguration starting in mid-June. Our immediate attention turns to the night of June 7, 2006, when the GW Alumni Association will host its Annual Meeting and the presentation of the 2006 Alumni Service Awards.

At the Annual Meeting, which all alumni are welcome to attend, the GW Alumni Association will review its past year of activity, welcome new officers and members to its Board of Directors, and pass its annual budget. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and is held at 1957 E Street, NW, 7th Floor.

Following the Annual Meeting, the Association will present the 2006 Alumni Service Awards, which recognize those alumni who have made exemplary volunteer contributions to GW. This years recipients, who have given so much to the University community, are:

-

W. Scott Amey, MS 75, volunteer director of the SEAS Career Services Office, who has identified 120 summer internship opportunities and 80 part- and full-time job openings for students and graduates
-

Robert G. Efrus, BA 80, president of the GW Alumni Association from 2003-2004, who also recently co-chaired the 25th reunion of the Class of 1980
-

Jeffrey A. Flaks, MHS 96, former alumni trustee and current president of the HSMP Alumni Association
-

Stuart S. Kassan, MD 72, a founding member and president of the Medical Alumni Associations (GWMAA) National Council
-

Camille A. Stillwell, MA 93, EdD 99, former president of the GSEHD Alumni Association and former vice president of the GW Alumni Association Board of Directors

As we recognize these exceptional volunteers, please join me in thanking all of the alumni volunteers who work on behalf of GW – from our regional and school alumni association leaders to career mentors, reunion committee members, student dinner hosts, and admissions volunteers. The University is a much stronger place due to your efforts.

Sincerely,

Scott M. Mory, BA 96, JD 99
Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
