The nominating committee of the Engineer Alumni Association (EAA) is now
accepting applications for membership on the EAA Board. There are currently
five vacancies to fill for the 2006-2007 board. All School of Engineering
and Applied Science (SEAS) alumni are eligible, but mid-career professionals
and graduate alumni are especially encouraged to apply. Members are expected
to attend meetings of the board, held every other month, as well as serve
on one or more of the EAA committees, which normally meet on the off months
of the board meetings.

ENGINEER ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SEEKS VOLUNTEER JUDGES FOR REGIONAL
SCIENCE FAIRS
The George Washington University Engineer Alumni Association (EAA) is
looking for School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) alumni to
volunteer as judges for science fairs in the Washington, D.C., region.
The purpose of EAA involvement in local science fairs is to encourage
youth to consider the science and engineering professions, increase awareness
of opportunities in these fields, and to promote GW and SEAS.
The EAA will participate in the following regional science fairs in 2006:
All science fair winners and their parents, as well as the judges, will
be invited to a dean’s reception in April. Students and parents
will have the opportunity to visit SEAS and meet Dean Timothy Tong, members
of the faculty, current students, and alumni.
