ALUMNUS MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
GW alumnus Travis Geraci, BA ’05, had no hesitation about moving across the globe to test his Arabic language skills in Yemen – his education at GW, which incorporated both language skills and cultural awareness, had prepared him for the challenge. READ FULL ARTICLE
Simón Rafael Contreras-Velásquez, BA ’81, MA ’82, recently published his first novel, Las Hijas Del Mastranto. The book, written in his native language of Spanish, contains a prologue penned by the Duchess of Alba.
David Cleary, BA ’95, MPA ’97, has been named staff director of the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Subcommittee on Education and Early Childhood Development. Cleary has nearly a decade of experience working on education issues in Washington.
Abby Lestition, BA ’02, met up with two other GW grads to hike Point Mugu in California, just north of Malibu. Lestition was thrilled to reconnect with her former classmates. The three first met while living on the ninth floor of Thurston Hall during their freshman year.
