MESSAGE FROM MORY

Greetings fellow alumni –

Take a trip to Ireland. Come back to campus and watch an electrifying basketball game. Attend a lecture. No matter what you like to do, there is a way to get involved at GW. The George Washington Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Programs work continually to bring you innovative and interesting programs – if you havent taken advantage of our offerings yet, we hope you will soon.

One way to stay informed of upcoming events and activities is to read each issue of the Colonial Cable. In the regional events section, you will find what is going on in your area – everything from lectures to presidents receptions to tailgate parties. Another great way to learn about events at GW is to check the Calendar of Events on the Alumni Online Community. And keep an eye out for the Regional Round Up each month, which contains details of alumni events in your area.

If its sports you like, several basketball tailgate events are coming up in February – scroll down to see if one is happening near you. Also, if you reside locally, the Capital Area Network of alumni sponsors several intramural sports teams, including baseball and soccer; new teams will be formed this spring. Read the alumni news section over the coming months for more information.

Save the dates, October 20 – 22, for Colonials Weekend 2006, featuring reunions for the undergraduate classes of 1956, 1976, 1981, 1996, and 2001, and events that will appeal to alumni of all ages. The Kick-off Party takes place on Friday night, and the Colonial Lecture Series happens Saturday afternoon, to name two of these special events. It is sure to be a great time and we hope that you attend; stay tuned for more information.

For the adventurer, this years Alumni Travel Program offers six different packages beginning in May 2006. You can take a tour through Sicily, visit Ireland, Portugal, or Normandy, or cruise the passage of Lewis and Clark with other GW Colonials aboard an authentic reproduction of an 1800s-era riverboat. Visit our website for more information on the Alumni Travel Program.

As you can see, there is plenty for you to do at GW. So get involved with your alma mater!

Sincerely,

Scott M. Mory, BA 96, JD 99
Executive Director of Alumni Programs and Annual Giving
