NEW YORK CARES DAY
Each year, GW alumni participate in New York Cares Day. This year on Saturday, October 22, GW alumni will join the 8,000 volunteers who will revitalize 100 New York City public schools in one amazing day. The GW team will be working at Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn. This school serves 2,431 students in grades 9-12. Volunteers will be working on a wide range of projects including murals in cafeteria and student rooms, planting bulbs along Washington Avenue, dusting books in the library, painting the wrought iron fence on Carroll Street, and working in their computer room to organize and move some computer equipment.

COMEDY AT CAROLINE’S
Join alumni from GW, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Emory, and Georgetown on Monday, November 14, for a fun-filled night of comedy at Caroline’s, 1626 Broadway, between 49th and 50th Streets. For the low cover price of $5, alumni will enjoy a top-notch show featuring headliner talent, as well as several alumni comedians.

Alumni from all six schools can meet and mix in the bar area starting at 6 p.m. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. sharp for the 7 p.m. show. In addition to the $5 admission cost, there is a 2-drink minimum per person, with food and beverages available for purchase throughout the show. Look for GW NYC Chapter Chair Heather Malkin to check-in with the GW group.
