REPORTING FOR DUTY
Vice Admiral Thad W. Allen, MPA ’86, was recently named the chief federal officer in charge of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Allen replaces former FEMA director Michael Brown. READ FULL ARTICLE
Army Chief Warrant Officer Edgar A. Collins IV, MFS ’00, is currently serving in Iraq as the detachment commander of the 48th Military Police Detachment, Criminal Investigation Division. Collins, who attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, has been serving in Iraq since January 2005
Andrea Fischer Newman, JD ’83, has been named a member of The Knight Foundation Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics. Newman is the chairwoman of the University of Michigan board of regents and senior vice president for government affairs at Northwest Airlines.
