As representatives of The George Washington University family and the George Washington Alumni Association, we reach out to you in the wake of last month’s devastating hurricane. We realize that you may have family, friends, residences, or businesses that have been severely affected by its destructive force and we want to assure you that your alma mater is with you.
The University feels a strong common bond with each and every graduate, no matter where they reside. We recognize that the consequences from this storm will be felt by many for weeks, months, and years to come.
The University has responded to this tragedy by engaging directly in the relief effort. Donations have been raised on campus in support of the Red Cross disaster response program. Additionally, GW has welcomed students from Tulane to the University to begin their studies as non-degree students.
Wherever you reside, whatever you may face, you will always hold a special place in the hearts of your fellow graduates and be an important part of the GW family. As you move through the days, weeks, and months ahead, please remember that you and your loved ones are in our thoughts.
