Michael Jessamy, JD ’82, has been named management co-director of the UAW DaimlerChrysler National Training Center. Jessamy previously served as the director of Technical Operations Group Human Resources for the Chrysler Group.
Sandra Kurtinitis, PhD ’86, was named chancellor of the Community College of Baltimore County. Chancellor Kurtinitis received a master’s degree in British literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her doctorate from The George Washington University.
Marc Leepson, BA ’67 MA ’71, recently released a new book entitled It’s Flag: An American Biography. The book has received glowing praise from The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the Richmond Times Dispatch.
Avi Rasowsky, BA ’05, a left-handed pitcher, recently signed with the Florida Marlins. As a GW senior, Rasowsky had a 2-2 record and a 5.87 earned run average. He pitched 13 games, nine of them as a starter for the team.
Sarah Reinertsen, BA ’98, was profiled on ABC’s Nightline for competing in the Ironman Triathlon World Championship. Reinertsen, an athlete with one leg, was not able to finish the race in 2004 but plans to try again this year.
Rachel Zoe Rosenzweig, BA ’93, was profiled in the Los Angeles Times for her work as a stylist to various celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, and Jessica Simpson. Rosenzweig, who goes by the name Rachel Zoe, was a stylist for YM magazine before starting her own business in Los Angeles.
