A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI PROGRAMS

Greetings fellow alumni—

Colonials Weekend is just two weeks away! We have had a strong response to the weekend, and to encourage as many people as possible to attend, we have decided to make the weekend a FREE EVENT. We hope that those of you who live in the area will stop by for a reception, a lecture, a performance. I highly recommend that you visit Colonials Village, on Kogan Plaza, a street-fair inspired celebration for the University community on Saturday afternoon. Read full article.

The celebration starts on Friday night at the Kick-off Party at Alumni House, from 7:30 p.m.– 10:00 p.m., with great food and good company. Stop by on your way to see Patti LaBelle in the Smith Center for what is sure to be a spectacular rhythm and blues show. For nostalgia buffs, Gelman Library hosts an archival exhibit with images of GW through the decades, old yearbooks, and historic copies of the Hatchet, among other memorabilia. DON’T MISS IT!

Lecture Series
One of the most popular events from years past is the Colonial Lecture Series. This year’s series features discussions on politics, advances in biomedical science, the relationship between aging and creativity, and other thought-provoking topics. All lectures take place on Saturday afternoon between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Media & Public Affairs building in rooms 309, 310, and B07. The lectures are free. Read full article.
