DR. JAMES SCOTT NAMED INTERIM DEAN AT GW MEDICAL CENTER’S SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES
On July 1, Dr. Scott, former associate dean of SMHS, assumed all the academic and administrative responsibilities of dean, a position previously held by Provost and Vice President for Health Affairs John F. Williams, MD, EdD, MPH since 1999.

BEACH BOYS TO HEADLINE COLONIALS WEEKEND 2003
Colonials Weekend, October 17-19, 2003, will feature reunions, faculty lectures, and much more! This year's headline entertainment is the Beach Boys. The concert will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Center. There is only one show and tickets are selling quickly. Tickets ($30 adult, $20 student) are being sold on a first come, first served basis and are general admission. For more information and to purchase tickets, please go to gwired.gwu.edu/tickets. HAPPY HOUR IN CRYSTAL CITY ON MONDAY, JULY 14

GW’s NATIONAL SOCIETY OF COLLEGIATE SCHOLARS PRESENTS “A BOY NAMED BOBO” ON AUGUST 3
The George Washington University chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars is sponsoring this play based on the life and death of Emmett “Bobo” Till, a young African American boy killed in Mississippi in 1955. It is an original student production from the Sunflower County Freedom Project, a non-profit organization that develops young leaders. The play will be performed on Sunday, August 3, at 5:00 p.m. in the Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre on the first floor of the Marvin Center (800 21st Street, NW). Free and open to the public. Tickets available at the door, first come, first seated.
