GW GRADUATE PROGRAMS RANK IN TOP 25
GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development, Law School, and graduate programs in health and public affairs were ranked among the top 25 in the latest “America’s Best Graduate Schools” issue of U.S. News & World Report.

GW RANKS 12TH IN PEACE CORPS LIST
With 31 alumni actively serving as volunteers overseas, The George Washington University ranked 12th nationally in the Peace Corps’ annual list of volunteer- producing medium-size colleges and universities.

INDUSTRIALIST CHIANG CHEN RECEIVES PRESIDENT'S MEDAL
President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg awarded The George Washington University President’s Medal to Chiang Chen, chair of the Chen Hsong Group and donor/founder of Chiang Industrial Charity Foundation, in a ceremony in Hong Kong on March 21.

2003 ALUMNI SERVICE AWARDS
Four GW alumni were honored for their service to the University at a ceremony in Alumni House on March 20. The Alumni Service Award has been in existence since 1959 and is awarded to alumni who have demonstrated outstanding service to the GW and the surrounding community. The 2003 honorees were Stanley M. Grube (SPHHS MBA '66), William S. King (GSEHD EdD '71), Eric S. Mendelsohn (CCAS AA '57, BS '59 and SEAS BS (CE) '67), and Steven Ross (SBPM BBA '81).

GW SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM RETURNS IN 2003
The GW Summer Tour day camp program for kids entering grades 2-9 is currently accepting camper enrollments for summer 2003. The program debuted on Foggy Bottom in 2002 and realized such success that grades 2 and 9 and over 60 programs were added for 2003. With an array of enrichment programs - everything from cooking and photography to experiencing life in the field of medicine and being a radio deejay. The recreational activities include volleyball, basketball, swimming, bowling, cheerleading and dance, and skateboarding. This camp gives kids a true GW experience at an early age! LECTURES ON THE NORTH KOREAN CONFLICT ON APRIL 9 and 21
Dr. Chong-Min Hyun, visiting professor of political science, will speak on "North Korea - A Threat to U.S. Security?" at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9 in the Continental Ballroom of the Marvin Center, 800 21st Street, NW. Admission is free. Dr. Hyun will present "Multilateral Approaches to Resolving the North Korean Conflict" at noon on Monday, April 21 in The George Washington University Club, 1918 F Street, NW. LEGENDARY HALL OF FAME BROADCASTER ERNIE HARWELL TALKS BASEBALL ON CAMPUS ON APRIL 10
At 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 10, Ernie Harwell will reminisce about his career and baseball's greatest moments. His talk will take place in the Jack Morton Auditorium in the Media and Public Affairs Building, 805 21st Street, NW. A reception will follow at 4:45. GELMAN LIBRARY INTERNATIONAL FILM SERIES FINALE APRIL 13
The Friends of the GW Libraries extends a special invitation to the GW Community, including alumni, to the final showing of a series of international films being presented on Sunday evenings this spring. Lumumba is the true story of the rise to power and brutal assassination of the formerly villified and later redeemed leader of the independent Congo, Patrice Lumumba. It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, in Gelman Library. Bring your GW Alumni Association card for free admission. For more information, go to the Gelman Library web site.

GW ANCHORS TENT IN UNIVERSITY ROW AT THE VIRGINIAL GOLD CUP ON MAY 3
This world famous steeplechase event is a grand spring tradition and a fixture on the Washington social calendar since 1922. Seven steeplechase races highlight the race day schedule. The Gold Cup has played host to some of the greatest steeplechase and timber horses ever. Pony races and Jack Russell Terrier races are also slated along with other entertainment. BEACH BOYS TO HEADLINE COLONIALS WEEKEND 2003
Colonials Weekend, October 19-17, 2003, will feature reunions, family activities, and much more! This year's headline entertainment is the Beach Boys. The concert will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Center. There is only one show and tickets are very limited. Tickets ($30 adult, $20 student) are being sold on a first come, first served basis and are general admission. For more information and to purchase tickets, please go to gwired.gwu.edu/tickets.
