ADMISSIONS NUMBERS INCREASE
GW continues to see an increase in prospective student interest, as
the University received close to 11,000 applications for next year as
of the end of November, admissions officials said recently. Early Decision
I applications have also increased - the University had received about
100 more applications this year than last year about a week prior to
the Dec. 1 deadline.

SPACE SECURITY PROGRAM LANDS $200,000 MacARTHUR AWARD
The
John T. and Catherine D. MacArthur Foundation has awarded The George
Washington University Space Policy Institute and the Security Policy
Program, both part of the Elliott School of International Affairs, a
two-year, $200,000 grant to establish a Security Space Forum.

MARVIN CENTER'S ABRAHMS GREAT HALL DEDICATED
Amid the sounds of cool music and the scent of hot food, the Marc C.
Abrahms Great Hall was officially dedicated at a Dec. 6 ceremony as
the University celebrated this new gathering place at the Marvin
Center.

GW JAZZ RADIO SHOW IN ORBIT
"GW Presents American Jazz", a two hour radio program, recently signed a two year, no fee deal with XM Satelite Radio to transmit the show to subscribers across the continental United States.

SPRING
COURSE AUDIT
Alumni House is pleased to invite you to participate in another semester of
the Alumni Course Audit Program! Offered through the cooperation of
many of GW's acedemic departments, this program provides alumni the
opportunity to attend many university courses for a modest registration
fee. Registration has now begun. Spring Semester classes begin Monday,

SEVEN FORMER COLONIALS ELECTED TO GW ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
Membership in the George Washington University Athletic Hall of Fame will expand from 104 to 111
on Friday, Feb. 14, when seven newly-elected members are inducted in ceremonies at the Marvin Center's Grand Ballroom.
