JUSTICE SCALIA DEDICATES "CORNERSTONE" ADDITION TO GW LAW SCHOOL
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was the featured speaker at a March 8th ceremony dedicating the newly-completed addition to the GW Law School. Scalia praised GW's law faculty and curriculum.

COSTA RICAN PRESIDENT NAMED TO ELLIOTT SCHOOL PROFESSORSHIP
Miguel Angel Rodriguez, who will step down as president of Costa Rica in May, has been named a J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Professor in GW's Elliott School of International Affairs. Rodriguez will offer several courses and lectures during his two-year professorship.

GW ALUMNUS NAMED U.S. SURGEON GENERAL
RAdm. Kenneth Moritsugu, a career officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Corps and a 1971 MD graduate, was named Acting Surgeon General of the United States last month.

The GW Alumni Association will honor four graduates with the Alumni Service Award at a March 26th ceremony. This year's recipients are: David K. Moore (MBA '80), Raymond J. Oglethorpe (MBA '69), Robert L. Tull (BA '49), and Mary C. Young (BS '65).

COLONIAL WOMEN VICTORIOUS OVER DELAWARE IN NIT OPENER
The GW Women's basketball team defeated Delware in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament Wednesday at the Smith Center. The Colonials move on to face Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, on Saturday, March 16.
