FED CHAIRMAN ALAN GREENSPAN VISITS GW TO SUPPORT GLOBALIZATION
Alan Greenspan, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors, gave the 3rd annual Hoffman Lecture on Monday, December 3. Greenspan's address advocated the continued spread of globalization.

GW ALUMNUS ELECTED GOVERNOR OF VIRGINIA
Mark R. Warner, a 1977 graduate of the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, was elected to the Virginia governorship in November. Warner will assume office on January 1, 2002.

GW ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SELECTS NEW OFFICERS, BEGINS NEW YEAR
At its June meeting, the GW Alumni Association elected Stanley Grube (MBA '66) as its president for 2001-02, and Nicholas Lakas (BA '46) as president-elect.

Following the cancellation of Alumni Weekend 2001, discussions are already taking place for next year, when Alumni Weekend and Family Weekend will be merged to form one giant celebration for alumni, family, and friends.

REGISTRATION BEGINNING SOON FOR SPRING 2002 COURSE AUDIT PROGRAM
Registration for the Spring 2002 Alumni Course Audit Program will begin on Monday, January 7, 2002. Visit the Alumni House web site for program details and a list of available classes. All registrations must be received by January 25, 2002 to avoid a late fee.

COLONIAL MEN AND WOMEN SUCCESSFUL OVER OPPONENTS
The GW Men's basketball team is off to its best season start in five years, with a 7-3 record after beating Providence, 83-77, on Saturday.
