In special instances, a person who has been admitted to the University may, with the permission of the instructor, be registered as an "auditor" (no academic credit) in a course. An auditor is not required to take an active part in class exercises or to take examinations. Auditors are indicated on class lists and final grade sheets by the symbol "AU". A student who audits a course may not take the same course later for credit. A student may not change from audit to credit or from credit to audit except with the permission of the instructor and the dean of the school. A registration transaction form is used for the purpose.
